Sorry for the unscripted rant, but I am SO sick and tired of small business owners having to become lawyers just to run a tiny business.

I’m calling my accountant to figure out what I actually need to do in practice, but honestly, it is looking very likely that I’ll have to stop shipping to the EU altogether because the amount of bureaucracy simply isn’t worth it for a micro business.

And this is the part that really gets me:
I am ALL for sustainable packaging. I already try to use as little packaging as possible and make the packaging I do use as responsible as I can. It's all paper and cardboard!!!

But how does making a tiny business navigate a maze of different registrations, fees and requirements across different countries actually help the environment?

First I had to stop shipping to the US because of tariffs. Now this. Where does it stop?

And what is the actual end goal here? Because if the result is that small independent businesses stop selling internationally while giant marketplaces keep flooding Europe with cheap products and mountains of packaging…

Are Temu and Shein really what we want to be left with?

Our bracelet station was a hit at the event so I decided to keep it for a while and if you visit us now, you can still have your custom made summer bracelet.

Also, I just wanted to use this opportunity to reflect and say once more how I am so happy to be surrounded ba amazing people who support what I do.
We really had a special evening to celebrate these 18 years so I'm wondering, why didn't I start celebrating sooner. Maybe we should make this a tradition, just next time, a little later in the summer to skip the crazy heat.

To everyone who came, I want to say a big thank you. You made my evening really special.

There’s something really satisfying about answering:
“Where’s it from?” and getting to say:
I made it myself in my small studio in Croatia.

Every piece of jewelry I make is handcrafted from Brač limestone, and every bead passes through my hands. It’s a little piece of the Adriatic, shaped into something meaningful that you can keep close to you every day. To me, that feels much more special than wearing another mass-produced accessory made in a factory somewhere, created in thousands of identical pieces.

I think more people are starting to care about where things come from, who made them, and whether there’s an actual story behind them.

Eighteen years of working with Brač limestone taught me its shape, weight, and texture.

But there’s something different about meeting a material where it begins, seeing the hands that still know how to split it, the landscape that holds it, and the rhythm it carries long before it becomes the jewelry I make.

What I came home with is a different way of seeing the same stone.
