Goyo Hashiguchi (1880–1921)
was a Japanese artist known for the shin-hanga movement, which blended traditional woodblock printing with modern realism. Though famous for portraits of women, he also created quiet nature scenes, including duck prints.
In Japanese symbolism, ducks often represent peace, harmony, loyalty, and connection to nature. Hashiguchi’s duck works are especially admired for their soft detail, calm atmosphere, and sense of stillness — capturing beauty in simple moments.
