Aerisorgona Kft.

An improvisation by Filip Presseisen on our organ built for the Sanktuarium Bożego Miłosierdzia (Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, Kraków–Prokocim).
During the design process (2012–2019), we studied the following historical instruments:

(Église Notre-Dame, Cavaillé-Coll, 1869)

• Paris – Basilica of the Sacred Heart (Sacré-Cœur)
(Cavaillé-Coll, 1898)

• Paris – Church of Saint-Sulpice
(Église Saint-Sulpice, Aristide Clicquot, 1781; rebuilt by Cavaillé-Coll in 1862)

• Paris – Basilica of Saint-Denis
(Basilique Saint-Denis, Cavaillé-Coll, 1841)

• Paris – Church of Saint-Clotilde
(Église Sainte-Clotilde, Cavaillé-Coll, 1859)

• Lyon – Church of Saint-Francis-de-Sales
(Église Saint-François-de-Sales, Cavaillé-Coll, 1880)

San Sebastián

• Basilica of Saint Mary of the Choir

A newly authenticated Bach work – heard for the first time in Hungary on the Budapest Bach Organ

A few days ago, the Bach Archive in Leipzig announced that the BWV catalogue has been expanded with two newly authenticated organ works. One of them is Johann Sebastian Bach’s Ciacona in G minor, BWV 1179, whose manuscript was discovered as early as 1992 in the Royal Library of Belgium.
After several decades of research and paleographic analysis, it has now been confirmed that the piece indeed originates from Bach’s early period — around his years in Arnstadt — and now it has officially been included in the Bach oeuvre.

It is a special honour that one of the first Hungarian recordings of this work was made in Budapest by László Fassang, titulaire of Grand Prix de Chartres, Liszt and Prima Award-winning organist, resident organist of Müpa Budapest and professor at the Paris Conservatoire.

The recording was made on the Budapest Bach Organ, located in the church of the German-Speaking Reformed Congregation of Budapest, built in 2017 by AERIS Orgona Kft.
The concept of the instrument was shaped by an in-depth study of the Thuringian organs that defined Johann Sebastian Bach’s early career. Its most significant historical inspiration is the 1703 Wender organ in Arnstadt, on which the young Bach served as organist.

Since this newly authenticated work originates precisely from this period, it is of particular significance that it could first be heard in Hungary on an instrument that evokes the sound world of Bach’s early years.
