The Egyptian state is not only famous as the oldest city in the world, but also known as the center of world civilization where the clothes are made using knitting techniques.

There are also other sources that state that knitting techniques were widely developed by the Arabs, to make tapestries. The knitting skills then spread throughout the world, ranging from tibet, Spain, to the Mediterranean port region. Even in the culture that flourished on the British coast, knitting became a compulsory skill passed down from mother to child throughout the generations. 

In the Norwegian region there is a tradition of making sweaters, jackets or cardigans with unique and intricate color combinations better known as knitted fair isles. While in Indonesia itself knitting skills were widely transmitted by Dutch noni to indigenous Women of Indonesia during the Dutch colonial period, so the name of the knitting stick is more popular with breien.
