What Is Amblyopia (Lazy Eye)?

Amblyopia, commonly known as lazy eye, is a neurodevelopmental vision disorder in which one eye — or sometimes both eyes — does not develop normal visual clarity during childhood.
Even though the eye may appear physically normal, the brain and the affected eye do not work together properly.

Over time, the brain begins to favor the stronger eye and suppresses visual input from the weaker eye, leading to reduced vision that cannot be fully corrected by glasses alone.
Amblyopia usually develops during infancy or early childhood and is one of the most common causes of reduced vision in children.

Common Signs & Symptoms:
•Blurry or reduced vision in one eye
•Poor depth perception
•Squinting or closing one eye
•Eyes that do not align properly
•Head tilting
•Difficulty judging distance
•Poor performance in vision screening

What Causes Amblyopia?
There are several main causes of amblyopia:
1. Strabismic Amblyopia:
