Adult Thalassemia Clinic Rotation

Today marks the beginning of my rotation at the Adult Thalassemia Clinic as part of my hematology-oncology training.

Here, I meet patients who have lived with thalassemia since childhood and are now continuing their journey into adulthood. For many of them, regular blood transfusions have been a part of life for years, together with treatment to prevent iron overload and its complications in different organs.

But today reminded me that behind every diagnosis, every transfusion schedule, and every laboratory result, there is always a person with their own story.

And somehow, despite everything they have been through, thalassemia patients are such a joy to meet. Warm, cheerful, and genuinely pleasant to talk to. It makes this rotation feel very different in the best possible way.

I still have so much to learn from them, not only about thalassemia, but perhaps also about living with something you never asked for and still finding reasons to smile.

Wishing all my thalassemia patients good health, strength, and many happy days ahead. ❤️

My New Rotation : 3rd semester.

August 24 marked the beginning of my third semester as a Hematology-Oncology trainee, and also my first day in the One Day Care Chemotherapy unit.

There’s always something exciting about stepping into a new rotation, new cases, new experiences, and so many new things to learn.

Grateful for every opportunity to grow, one day at a time.
Keep learning, keep moving forward.

Bandung, 25 years, same feeling.

Bandung was once my second home. I spent around seven years here studying medicine and later completing my Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacology at Universitas Padjadjaran.
Every time I return, I find myself revisiting Bandung’s iconic culinary spots and making a trip to Lembang, usually to hunt for ornamental plants.
Coming back always brings a sense of nostalgia and emotion. It’s hard to believe that 25 years have passed since the 2001 UMPTN announcement that told me I had been accepted into medical school at Universitas Padjadjaran.
Some places are more than just places. They hold a piece of who we once were. ❤️

🧖‍♀️🧖‍♀️Intimate Moment with Myself in Bali🧖‍♀️🧖‍♀️
Although it was only a brief moment, i finally found myself again in Bali. The island where the beauty of nature and cultural art, which i really love, meet in harmony.
This is my Bali Journey recap.

My Relaxing Moment in Ubud, Bali.

As a trainee doctor caring daily for cancer patients and their many complications, burnout is always a possibility. To prevent it, I try to carve out small escapes from routine. My favorite getaway is wandering through the rice fields, feeling safe, serene, and at peace as I gaze upon the endless green. That’s why whenever I visit Bali, I never miss Ubud’s terraced fields, I feel like heaven on earth. 🌾
