At first glance it may not look like a lot has happened to this fine William IV Rio rosewood chiffonier (around 1830s). But it has. Taken apart, missing veneer replaced, glass secured, loose veneer steamed and reset, extensive cleaning all over, stains and scratches removed, french polished, waxed, put back together. Well over 12 hours work, but worth it. It doesn’t look over restored, shiny and new, just antique and cared for, as it should. Good for another 200 years. How’s your IKEA cupboard from 10 years ago? 😀
