Every painting starts the same way... with a blank canvas and an idea.

This woodland stag was inspired by the quiet beauty of Ireland's forests and painted here in my studio in County Wicklow. Over many hours, layers of colour, texture and light slowly came together until the scene felt alive.

Long before it becomes a greeting card, notepad or art print, every Appleberry Atelier design begins as an original painting.

It's a slower way of creating, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
