An absolutely wonderful piece of history,

Manufactured by The Bennet Furnishing Company, Ltd.
Glasgow, Scotland and London; manufacturers of school, theatre and church furniture (1862-1938).
The Bennet Furnishing Company was founded in Ontario, Canada by Charles Bennet. Originally from Edinburgh, he emigrated to London, Ontario in 1855 to work in the timber trade and by 1862 had established a school furniture manufacturing business.
The Company exhibited 'strong and comfortable desks' at the 1886 Edinburgh International Exhibition where their dual school seats and desks was awarded a bronze.

This piece will be booked into the workshop for some tender love and care before being offered to the market.
