Senna pods have arrived! A few people have been asking for senna pods, and you'll now find them in the herbs and spices section on the fridge door in the food hall.

Senna pods are generally brewed into a tea to make a gentle laxative. Senna pods are best used in moderation.

In July, we're on holiday on Mondays and Tuesdays for some much needed rest, relaxation, and reading! But we will be open every Wednesday to Sunday, 1pm to 6pm, so please visit us then.

This week Mollie will be reading Land by Maggie O'Farrell. It's definitely one of our books of the year -- every customer that has bought it has loved it. And Mollie is LISTENING to an advance-listening copy of Trad Wife by Sarah Langan, which is through our audiobook partner, . There's a horror at the heart of Black Swan Farm, and it will make you question what's real and what is a perfectly curated deception. Trad Wife will be available as an audiobook in Ireland soon.

Her mother's footnote?? Or will Noreen Gilhooley step into her own spotlight?

Liz went to see Irene Kelleher perform her one-woman play Footnotes today in Birr as part of Scripts Ireland playwriting festival, and she thoroughly enjoyed the performance.

Irene drew on her own experience working as a bookseller -- every customer comment in the script was once said to her when she was behind the counter herself, and these comments were a riot.

The play is also intensely emotional with so many highs and lows as Irene's character Noreen untangles her feelings, desires, and ambitions in the shadow of a fierce, very famous, much loved, deceased mother, Genevieve de Lacy.

Footnotes is well worth seeing, and -- Bookselling Ireland take note -- Irene would love to do a bookshop tour!
