Cobh Artists Trail / Culture Night 2026

I'd say you all thought there is no way more mushrooms would fit into this window...well you thought wrong 😜🙃

Come check out Annie Bosma art especially created for this year's Cobh Artists Trail for Culture night.

Every item she made for this is available to purchase in the shop over the next few days. Only 20 small mushroom prints are made so be quick on them. There are also a few of her ceramic pieces displayed in the window and are also available to purchase (...one sold while we were still setting up so I'd say that tells you how amazing her pieces are).

I will have no margin on these so all your $$$ is going straight into supporting one of my favourite local artists (....but I do appreciate any purchase you might make in the shop the same time 💫)

Annie is also running a pottery workshop in Cobh soon, this is definitely something worth looking into (I'd do it myself if I didn't have too much on my plate already). All info are on her page.

Her pieces will be on display in the window during this whole weekend and I'll have the shop open as usual, 10am - 5pm...then its back to "just" my giant 🍄

So, my first Christmas item is in and I decided to open the Christmas club extra early this year to get you all organized and the cost spread before the madness is here. Yes, I am well aware we are only in September but we all know by now that this is a tiny shop and what I order for Christmas by November is it for the season as after that deliveries will not arrive in time - meaning no restocks once my stock is in.

*****
You can start putting bits away with the Christmas club from now on - this does not include plants & dried flowers as they take up too much storage space but everything else - jewellery, prints, clocks, candles, soap, cards, mugs etc. etc. can be tucked away and paid over time.

The payments can be split into whatever amounts suit you best but the first payment needs to be a minimum 30% of the total sum. Items can be added bit by bit as well. The final payment needs to be made latest Saturday 19th of December and items can be collected once the whole amount is paid.

******

I will keep the shop packed now at all times, and as every year so far - I will not be overdoing it on the Christmas only stuff as I'd like the gifts purchased here to be cherished all year round. You will still find a great selection of Christmas cards, ornaments and wreaths when the time comes for that (not for a good few weeks)

As I mentioned before, I have a large selection of items in stock this year but the majority of them are available in only small amounts as I don't have a lot of storage space and would like for everyone to get very different gifts. Also all these items need to be paid before Christmas and I am far from being a millionaire so I have a set budget for my orders. Keep an eye on my posts and stories and do come for a browse every now and then as I simply can't put everything online and some bits like the pink sardine clocks are already sold out and out of stock by the supplier 🫠

Happy shopping everyone 🎄

Inspired by the new candle range by Sugarloaf Botanics , Lughnasa & Samhain.

If I did flowers by my taste only...this is the type of flowers I would do. I was waiting for a rainy and quiet day like today for ages and enjoyed making these so, so much.

I will only make a handful of these as they are massive and I don't have actual space to display more than one or two in the shop but I can see them working so well as a centrepiece in a home or a restaurant, a reception area maybe.

They are 90cm in height, including the vase, and are made with a crazy amount of dried flowers as I just went completely overboard as time went on (....15 different types). I would say this will be easy to convert to a Christmas arrangement as well, add some baubles, pine cones and Winter berries (I'll have these to buy per piece once the time comes) and you are all sorted. Since the arrangements are actually quite neutral they will work all year round in some interiors - and you can always put them away for the next season, the flowers will stay the same.

Price is 140e including the vase, the candles are 26e.

Lughnasa

Celebrate the turning of the summer towards harvest with this sweet, mellow, natural soy candle scented only with essential oils.. with notes of orange, lavender, chamomile, benzoin and ylang ylang, and topped with dried Wicklow honeysuckle, this is an indulgent yet subtle addition to the summer dinner table or to savour the last of the long evenings as we turn towards autumn.

• Handpoured and batch labelled
• Essential oils and soy wax only
• 180ml amber jar

Samhain

Topped with gorse and mugwort, scented with essential oils of pine, cinnamon, clove and sweet orange, this candle gently supports our descent into the darker half of the year.

• Handpoured and batch labelled
• Essential oils and soy wax only
• 180ml amber jar

Each of these arrangements has a dried hydrangea that was collected and dried by my parents in Croatia and shipped over here. They have massive hydrangea plants and I am quite sentimental about them as a picture of them was the first picture I used for this business and is still on my business cards.

Is it too early to be putting fairy lights in the window? ✨️

Three 12 hours days later and the shop is Autumn ready, finally.

Yes, these few days were extremely long but it was also the first time in a long, long time that I actually enjoyed being in the shop. Had the blinds down, enjoyed listening to music while working and just having the time for myself and my thoughts - and plans for the future.

Summer this year was just neverending...and the year also started very busy for me since February...and it just did not stop. The shop did in a way take a life of its own this year and I do see now (wow being kind to myself) that I actually did create an amazing space. But I definitely overdid it with the opening every or almost every day this year. Now, I did do this to myself, it was my choice to open most days...and it is not sustainable I can tell you that. I've been cranky & anxiety through the roof as my social battery is on a constant minimum...and I am no good to anyone like this.

I want this business to make me happy again like it did for the past few days.
..so

I will be taking 1 (one), sometimes even 2 (two) days off again from now to do things that are not work related and to recharge 😂
..and, considering the Summer is officially over - I am going to celebrate Saturday and will close the shop this Sunday (30th of August) 😂😂

Thank you all for giving me so much support and love since the very start, this shop would not be what it is now if it were not for all of you.

Summer sale on!!!!

You have all been so good to me and kept me so so busy this year so far that I decided to celebrate the end of Summer and put a discount on EVERYTHING. Plants & pots will be 25% off (...yes, this includes the terrarium lamp as well)
..and as for everything else...including jewellery, gnomes, tide/moon clocks, dried flowers, prints, candles, vouchers etc. etc. 10% off!

This doesn't mean I will discontinue the items - they just won't be on any discount in the future.

Cuckoo clocks (only 3 left) are on 30% off as I am actually getting other clocks in so this is the last chance for them though. Few display pieces on 40% off as they are discontinued by the supplier but everything else will be restocked, and a lot of new items will be in for Autumn & Winter.

I never did a Summer sale so far so I have no idea how busy this will get. I won't be putting anything new on the shelves during these days and won't be restocking till after the sale so whatever is here on Friday - it is on sale. Help me clear out the shelves so I can fill them with mushrooms and hedgehogs next week again 🍂🍄‍🟫

(also note there won't be another sale this year at all so this is it)

Happy shopping 💫

Closing the shop for the Bank Holiday and taking my 2 days off as well 🥳 If you need anything - I am still here today (Saturday) till 5pm, open Sunday 2nd of August 11am - 5pm as well.

Closed Bank Holiday Monday, Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th of August. Back open then Thursday 6th of August as normal from 10am.

I won't be monitoring any messages anywhere either during this time, any *pressing* matters will be replied to once I am back in work 💫

(to give you context on the second pic - I have recently after one of my usual work rants been shown the series Black Books and it was probably the first show ever where during the whole first episode I had no comment whatsoever as I felt so called out 😂 - if you don't want me to become Bernard Black - let me have my days off. Also....for any shop keeper - I highly recommend this show cause it will both make you laugh and cry about how your life feels sometimes 🫠)

Have a great weekend everyone ❤️

Save the dates....
..as Annie Bosma is back for a pop up this August again!

Friday - 14th of August 10am - 5pm (closed for lunch from 1pm - 1.30pm)

Saturday - 15th of August 10am - 5pm (closed for lunch from 1 pm - 1 .30pm)

Sunday - 16th of August 12 noon - 4pm

These will be the shops opening hours on those days as well.

Annie is a multidisciplinary artist from Cobh. She is currently focused on functional & decorative ceramics but constantly develops new products (...and skills). She is inspired by the overlooked beauty of nature and her work reflects resilience and strength in the world around her.

She will have mugs, spoons, bottles, leaf dishes and jewellery available in the shop on those days. I have a good few of Annie's cups and leaf dishes and absolutely love them, especially as I know noone has the exact same. They are truly mine in every sense.

There will always be something special in handmade products and peoples talents need to be cherished. Fact is, the world has been flooded lately with AI "art" and everyone doing everything. I always get baffled when I get the question if I make "everything" in the shop.

To make anything, especially commercially, needs so much time and effort. Imagining, designing, sourcing materials, actually making the product, considering packaging and marketing....and a whole lot of admin and cleaning in between.

And a whole lot of failing.

Noone can make everything and no one should be pressured to do so either. In a world where the answer to every question is just one click away...take your time and do things in a pace that lets you actually enjoy the process. Invest yourself into what you love.

The same AI flooded world has been striving for absolute perfection as well and that "perfection" makes everything all the same. Same photos, same posts, same automatic message replies, same emojis, same lack of the unique energy signature. It all becomes forgettable, and why would anyone want that?

In this world of perfection, look for the imperfect as the true uniqueness does really lie in the so-called flaws.

Why oh why does almost every delivery have something I *need*; I swear sometimes it just feels as if I am purchasing for myself and not the shop. Could not resist this "cake" plate so it will go on a wall at mine but just had to eat some cake off it first 😂

They are made by _oh.ruby_ and I only ever get one of each so if you like any particular one...don't wait forever to get it. They feel like sassy cottagecore to me, just a bit of fun. They all have a hook on the back so you can hang them on the wall and give it a bit more dimension instead of just having picture frames 💫

(cake by Seasalt Cobh , get it while they have it 👌)

Best of luck to Rebecca and Andrew on their wedding day, may all of your days together be as bright as this one ✨️

A more relaxed and fun picture set up as this was a really fun order for me...and it would take ages to bring it all up and down for a photo shoot 🫠 Not me modeling as apparently there was a risk of me starting to feel bridal 🙄

(I usually never or very rarely do wedding flowers. Definitely no arches or full room decor as I am one of those dopes that don't drive; plus -  I am on my own in the shop so I cannot go do stuff on site somewhere. Other thing - I would not really recommend dried flowers as full room decor as they get very pricey and realistically - what will you do with them after the big day? (I am such a good sales woman I know...😂) There are businesses doing this with an option of renting -  I don't have storage for that plus this would be a whole other business then. If you would still want me to make something for your big day - come for a chat and bring some ideas with you so we can see if this is possible or no but no promises there as like I said...I don't really do this often 🏵)
