Reverse art reveal

I always get this question. Every time I post / show one of the clear frames.

The front is almost the same as the back and the only trick up the sleeve is to use glue that dries clear 💁🏽‍♀️ In any case, the most important thing is to make sure the glue doesn’t show at the front, because the back will be facing a wall (most likely).

And yes, there’s 2 pans of glass. One to hold the artwork, the other one to cover the flowers.

The reason I like posting transformations is because you can see how the flowers change from fresh to pressed. When I get asked about how long are they going to last, if the colours and shape change, etc. I prefer showing it rather than explain it.

Yes, the flowers change, but the essence and the memories are still there. And I think that what really matters.

I got this bouquet at the beginning of April and it was beautiful (and big). I’m weak for deep colours, what can I say.

When it was time to style it, she wasn’t sure what she’d like. All she said: I want to use as many flowers as possible.

Perfect!

I tried a classic, by adding as many flowers as I could fit. But it was a piece with no shape, and no soul if you ask me. So we tried sizing-up and adding some of the stems. First on a white background. Then, on glass.

And she fell in love with the last option.

I made a boo boo with this commission

Not a huge one, and not something that couldn’t be fixed, but I felt bad. After started working on this piece I went on holidays and didn’t have time to finish it on time.

I continued working on it when I got back, two weeks later. I trusted my brain and didn’t check my notes. So when I finished the main piece and had it ready for shipping, the bride asked me if it was better to send them separately 🫣🫣

I completely forgot she wanted 3 pieces in total and not just one. I had all the spare flowers packed away and the minis made on paper ( I always made one or two if there’s enough spare flowers). I felt really BAD. It was totally my fault since I didn’t check my notes and I had to make her wait another week for her set.

She also apologized for not reminding me sooner, but ai still felt bad. I lifted up all the flowers I used on the minis to make them on glass instead.

I got lucky. Besides one or two that broke the rest were saved and now they’re framed forever 🤗

It's been a while since I posted a full transformation, but this set deserved a permanent place on the feed.

Jacqueline didn't want to have any spare or pressed flowers going to waste, so we created this 4 piece set with added Christmas decorations.

I love when the couples love their flowers so much they want to make sure they're keeping them all forever.
