Meet our Maker: Zivile Zeniauskaite

'Originally from Lithuania, I came to Ireland as a student, fell in love, and made it my home. Years later, during Craft Month in 2018, I stumbled upon felting—and was instantly captivated by the magic of wool. Working from my small home studio in Glennahulla, I create unique, handcrafted pieces ranging from wearable art to home decor. Each felted work is a journey of texture, colour, and play—where loose fibres transform under my hands into something truly special. I’m endlessly inspired by wool: a natural, renewable, breathable, biodegradable fibre that continues to surprise me with its beauty and versatility.'

Gitana Malisauskiene is a full time crocheter from Lithuania who calls Carrigaline, Co. Cork her home for the last 19 years. Her chosen crocheting material is a strong rope that gives durability, reliability and uniqueness to her products, which range from handbags to pet beds to home decor. Each item is patiently designed and crafted by herself.

Meet our Maker: Sarah Buckley Collins ! Sarah Buckley is a visual artist based in North Cork. Working mainly in textiles while also incorporating sculpture and installation, Sarah’s work is a personal exploration of childhood memory, trauma, experience and identity. Sarah graduated with a BA in Visual Art (Sherkin Island) in 2018 and completed a Special Award in Textiles (Level 8) in the Crawford College of Art and Design graduating in 2024. Her work has been exhibited in Ireland and the UK and she received an Arts Council Agility Award in 2021. Sarah also curated the Cork Craft Month Emerge exhibition in 2024.
