Don’t be sheepish, which design on a breakfast set would make your cuppa feel special?
Everyone knows Charlie’s Grá Red Heart and Mackerel Fish designs, but don’t overlook his witty Sheep and An Glás Croí Green Heart. Each design is hand painted by Charlie on his handmade ceramics pottery right here in Cork.
Our Breakfast Set is beloved for a reason, it’s practical and beautiful. Year after year these sets are selected as gifts for housewarming gifts, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, birthdays, and more. So many occasions and stories!
We love hearing the stories when you pop into us in the English Market. You must remember that Charlie nurtures each piece from a lump of clay, so hearing about where his pieces go brings us joy. One customer bought two breakfast sets to give as a wedding gift - Grá for the bride, An Glás Croí for the groom. A wonderful gran came by and chose an espresso cup for her grandchild abroad to have a piece of Cork.
Just remember as we approach the season when you will be stressing over what gifts to give (we’re not saying the C-word just yet) that handmade, LOCALLY MADE ceramics pottery is incredibly thoughtful and lasting without any drama. It doesn’t insinuate anything and can’t be interpreted as an insult. Not like that Hoover incident of Christmas 2012. And if someone already has one, you’ve added to their collection. Unlike bathrobes and slippers which no one yearns to collect.
