It’s with a heavy heart I write this today folks, we are announcing the closure of Wild Design (that lovely little shop in Paul street) on July 8th.
Recently trading in the City Centre had become tricky to say the least. However not to dwell on the woes of small businesses in City Centres, we want to leave on a positive note!
We have had an incredible journey over the years.
We started out 6 years ago with a business model based on soundness, favoring human capital & natural capital and we watched that model growth with pride.
With a shoe string budget and the backing of 21 of Irelands finest & soundest makers we achieved what the bank said was impossible, a profitable business with community at its heart ❤️ From that success and profit we created a local campaign, Green Friday Ireland, that turned global, with countries such as France & Poland taking part in the Green Friday movement. Again on a tiny budget, huge passion and support from Irelands small businesses. We will forever be grateful for all the support.
We watched, with incredible pride, as makers grew from small spare room businesses into house hold names and hope that this growth will long continue. It’s always been our belief that supporting & naturing Ireland creatives is the key to a smart, successful & sustainable domestic economy.
We are most proud of the legacy that will far outlive us all! Our tree planting - with over 1000 trees planted in west cork and 500 across the world ❤️
Absolutely none of this could have been possible without you, our makers and customers ❤️ you are the reason this was all possible, you bought, you backed and you believed 😊 Thank you all 🙏 for allowing all of this to happen, for your continued support and your absolute soundness over the years. It’s been a joy and honor to serve you ❤️
This is not the end of WD, but we will hit pause until October 1st when we will relaunch our website and who knows where we will pop up in the future.
So for now, THANK YOU
Bronwyn, Mary, Jodie, Siomha, Kelly & Fionn x
