As renewal works continue across in Blackpool, we're investing in a brighter, more welcoming space for everyone who visits. But while the surroundings are changing, it's the people who have always given Blackpool its character.

For Sylvia O'Brien, Shift Manager at McDonald's Blackpool, it's the relationships she's built over the years that stand out the most. From greeting familiar faces each morning to helping host the monthly Seniors' Coffee Morning, she's seen first-hand how the shopping centre brings people together. In her own words, we all know each other, we're all like a big happy family! 🤗

It's those everyday conversations, friendly faces and sense of belonging that have made Blackpool Shopping Centre part of life on Cork's northside for more than 26 years - and they'll continue to long after the work is complete.

Did you know that Bank of Ireland is one of the longest serving businesses we have here in Blackpool? 🤔

We recently caught up with Aileen Broderick, Bank Manager and Maeve Webster, Senior Customer Service Advisor to chat about some of the recent updates that have been taking place throughout the mall and retail park.

"It's absolutely fabulous to see. Bank of Ireland is proud to have been part of the Blackpool journey for the past 25 years, supporting generations of customers, families and local businesses from our Blackpool branch - we're honoured to be part of such a vibrant community," they commented.

While some of you may notice things physically changing in our shopping centre as we invest in the future of Blackpool Shopping Centre, one thing will never change - the sense of community spirit.

People like Aileen, Maeve and of course the BOI team have helped shape our shopping centre into what it is today, a focal point for Cork's northside community. ✨
