Lovely to see old friends and returning clients enjoying the fishing from Lady Louise,Skipper Chris has made the headlines again with another Flapper Skate tagged and released over 100 kgs approx,an Irish Specimen,on the sharking days didn’t disappoint with over 40 blues and 7 Porbeagle landed one blue very near the specimen weight ,good pollack fishing ,bullhuss and a few conger while fishing in the bay and inshore the bass fishing producing fish to 5lbs.

A skipper to catch tag and release 3 fish over 100 kgs in his first angling season is no mean feat but that’s exactly what Chris O Connell skipper of the Lady Louise has achieved,his latest 100kg conquest was a Flapper skate caught tagged and released yesterday by Dutch angler Thijs a regular visitor to Courtmacsherry(see vid)along with the Irish Specimen Flapper Skate 2.13 metres they caught Ling,Conger,bullhuss,mackerel,pollack,whiting,garfish,sea bass and Blue and porbeagle shark.

Another record broken at Courtmacsherry!
Willem Jan while fishing with a group from the Netherlands landed a Flapper Skate measuring 2.3metres total length estimated to be over
200 lbs ,the fish was expertly played for over an hour and was tagged and released and the largest skate recorded at Courtmacsherry,it was Willem Jan’s first fishing holiday in Ireland and he followed in the big fish footsteps of Piet Verkade who landed a huge Porbeagle ,another Courtmacsherry record.

When Chris O connell joined our team at Courtmacsherry Angling in May as Skipper I thought it would take him a while to find his feet but talk about hitting the ground running,caught the first Flapper Skate ,hit the wrecks with the Belgians with a great Ling catch and good sized Blue Shark and then to top it all to put the Dutch out of their World Cup misery he lands them the biggest Porbeagle every caught from Courtmacsherry approx 250 lbs caught by Piet Verkade along with some serious sized Blue Shark.I think Chris is enjoying his first season with us.!

The Skate fishing season got underway in Courtmacsherry today our first female Frapper skate of 1.22M caught by Dutch angler Marnix (tagged and released)aboard the Lady Patricia skippered by Chris O Connell ,the group are regular visitors to Courtmacsherry and the tour is led by Dirk-Jan whose been fishing in Courtmacsherry for over 20 years,other fish included Pollack,Coalfish,Cod,Pouting,wrasse ,cuckoo and Ballan and Dogfish.The conditions were improving and it was to be able to get to sea after the poor conditions of late.we have full charter available and individual seats will be available later in the summer,our self drive boats are also available for inshore and estuary fishing.For more info log on to www.courtmacsherryangling.ie
