The hardest part is choosing!

Seven colours. One decision. Conor has watched customers stand in front of the leather wall for longer than they'd like to admit, and he never rushes them.

Every roll you see here will become something. A bag, a belt, a wallet, a journal cover. Each one cut and shaped by hand in the workshop just through the door.

The Di**le Peninsula has been carrying its own history in the ground for longer than anyone can properly date. Standing stones, ring forts, and knotwork that shows up on everything from church doors to gravestones.

We borrowed some of it. The Ríasc, Dúnbeg, Gallarus and Brandon belts each take their name from places you can still go and visit a few miles from the workshop.

Four bags, one wall, your choice!

The Caitlin is the one for someone who wants a tote with no fuss about it, two top handles, a single roomy compartment, and enough structure to hold its shape from a Monday to a Friday.

The Siobhan goes bigger again, softer lines, rolled handles, and the kind of proportions that make it the bag people reach for when they're packing for the day rather than the afternoon.

The Róisín does double duty, a saddle bag with a detachable strap so it goes from shoulder to hand to hands-free depending on what the day actually needs.

And the Aoife, small but properly organised, two compartments and a zipped divider doing more work than its size lets on.

"Our new puppy had chewed through my husband's old leather wallet and I wanted to gift him a new one. Since we were in Di**le we thought we'd check this place out and we were not disappointed. This is such a gem of a place! The drive up to the shop is lovely and the smell of leather hits you as you walk through the door. If you're looking for an Irish-made gift then Holden is the place for it. The goods are incredibly well made and in classic designs. They ship worldwide so if you don't have space in your suitcase you can always order online."

Meet Juno, unofficial quality control, official workshop greeter.

She has opinions about most customers and keeps them entirely to herself, mostly by falling asleep in the one patch of sun by the door. If you visit and she doesn't get up to say hello, it's nothing personal, she's just very committed to her nap schedule.

Not everything we make gets carried on a shoulder.

This one wraps around itself. Natural grain chestnut leather, a traditional strap and collar stud that fastens it properly, no zips, no magnets, just tradition.
Inside is a replaceable hardback notebook, two hundred pages, ruled or blank depending on how you write. When you finish it, you don't replace the journal; you refill it. This cover is made to last.
