We also have some Violetta and Mayan Gold to taste, though we haven't started harvesting those yet!

We will have 2 varieties Queens and Sharpes Express, we will COOK up both and you can have a taster in the pod before deciding which one to bring home.
We grow lots of varieties of potatoes that people have never heard of and over the coming weeks we will have tastings for all varieties in the pod.

(TL) Violetta (TR) Trial Variety (BL) Dathúil (BR) Violetta/Trial comparison

Some test digs today to check on size. As we expected the potatoes are on the smaller size due to lack of rain, so, hoping that some of the wet stuff comes over the next couple of weeks.
That being said, the potatoes look great, we have decent yield, clean skin finish so counting our blessings.
VIOLETTA - Is thriving, even size is good.
TRIAL - Our trial variety is doing exceptionally well too. Good size, great skin finish, and great shape.
Dathùil - Is holding its own too. Not bad sizes, skin finish good also. This is our hybrid queens/pinks variety.
Just take a look at how purple the Trial Variety is, compared to the Violetta (which is very purple)!!

One of our more modern speciality varieties, developed through conventional plant breeding in The Netherlands. Firm as opposed to flour, with a sweet nutty flavour and beautiful pink and white flesh. Available through La Rousse Foods in the coming weeks.

Come along to on Saturday we will have Queens and Sharpes Express. The will be open and potato tastings will be in full swing!
