We had a great time this week making moving TV shows in craft club! 📺

The kids had to draw 4 scenes from their favourite TV show or movie (books and games were also allowed) which then slid through the screen. They also had to draw the room or cinema where they would be watching it.

This is a lovely, simple craft, and the kids absolutely loved doing it.

For everyone asking, next week will be our last week of the term before we break for the summer 🌞

If you're looking at this thinking I really fancy doing that but I'm a terrible artist, please don't let that put you off.
Almost everyone who has booked so far has qualified their booking with remarks about their lack of art skills, but I'm delighted that they can see past that enough to go ahead and do something they'll enjoy.
This workshop is about having fun while doing something relaxing and enjoyable. It's not about being an incredible artist, but having said that, you might just be surprised at what you can do with a little guidance 💕

Go ahead and do the things that make you happy 😁

Wow, I just love my job 🩷

Over 6 weeks I've hosted adult craft sessions for Louth Local Development in Drogheda and Dundalk, which were free to anyone who wanted to join, with the idea being that it might bring together people from different areas of our society and thus, help in some way to build communities and strengthen bonds by bringing people together and encouraging those who might not normally, to be part of a local group.

Today was our final class, in Dundalk, and what an absolute pleasure it has been getting to know both groups over the 6 weeks.

We tried all kinds of crafts, and everyone has favoured different things, many of the participants have continued to do their chosen crafts at home as a hobby, which always makes me feel delighted 😁

But more importantly we've chatted, made friends, gotten to know each other, supported each others work and encouraged each other.
And I've witnessed confidence grow and everyone has been reminded of how important it is to switch off sometimes and do things which make us happy ❤️

What a pleasure 🥰

Thanks so much to everyone who has taken part in some, or all of the sessions. And thank you to Louth Local Development for working hard to enrich the places we live.

Today we painted pots and everyone took home a plant to grow. 🪴 How beautiful? 💕

Last week the older class had a 'free choice' object painting session.
I let them choose from a selection of things such as frames, vases, pots and clay objects, and we used acrylic paint to decorate and then add some customisation.
They loved doing this ❤️
We also made tiny bottles of sand, turning them into mini potions and spells.
These are always popular and they love layering the colored sand ⏳

We have just 2 weeks left before we break for summer and we're having a lovely term 🥰😎🎨

In today's final free Drogheda workshop we painted beautiful terracotta pots, starting with a base coat to prime, and finishing with a clear coat to varnish and protect.
And of course there was a pretty plant for everyone so they can watch as it grows and blooms in their own creations 🪴

Thanks to everyone who has attended these classes. You've all made it so easy and so nice.
And thank you as always to for getting me on board.

It was just a gorgeous atmosphere, everyone chatting and laughing as they worked on their simple craft, and we all agreed that it's much -needed therapy for the mind and soul 🩵

More of this please 🙏🏼

I'm now having a walk on the beach, so calm and peaceful, more therapy 😁 before lunch.

What a fantastic way to spend a day. 🥰
