Red seem to be the theme this week.

Fabulous Red Mullet & Red Gurnard on offering this week. Two delicious but very different fish.

Red mullet is a really nice succulent oily fish, works very well pan-fried or grilled. Caught down off the south-east coast this time of year.

The Red Gurnard is a very popular fish, and a hard one to get. It’s caught in prawn grounds and gets its unique flavours from feeding off the prawns. Firm and meaty, you’ll love it if you try it.

We are blessed to have the local boats in Clogherhead, fishing right around the coast, providing us with the best quality fresh fish. 99% of the world would love to be able to get their hands on the local fresh produce we can have on our doorstep. And we absolutely appreciate it. The hard work, rough seas and endless hours that go into getting that produce from sea to plate.

Reminder, we are closed over the holiday period as the boats take their rest and we do some new shop renovations.

We will re-open with an abundance of fresh fish on Tuesday 13th of January at 8am.

Our Christmas opening hours.

Here until 1pm Xmas eve, and then closed until Tuesday the 13th of January while the fishing boats take their time off and we get some shop renovations done.

If there’s anything in particular you’re looking for, for Christmas or the time we’re closed, order with us in-store or over the phone on 041-9830622.

We can vaccum pack a few extra seafood delights for you to have in your freezer for the time we’re closed.
