M.I.O prints is a lifestyle fashion brand that pulls inspiration from afro-descendent patterns. It  was initially birthed in response to a gap in the Afro-Irish market to natural hair products in 2018 by lifestyle blogger Florence Olufemi-Ojo. Today M.I.O prints is quickly becoming the industry standard for people who not only want products that protect their hair in a manner that celebrates the wholesomeness of Afro-centric culture but also for people looking for soft, high quality vibrant coloured pyjamas that are quickly becoming more than just sleeping items but luxurious comfort wear.

On the 8th of November, M.I.O Prints launched her Christmas collection called Odun Ayo. Odun Ayo means means 'Year of Happiness' which affirms the power one has to create a life of happiness and joy despite any challenges faced.

“I’m Lapree Lala, a professional dance artist and instructor. I have been teaching Afrodance for the last 5 years across Ireland, namely Dublin, Galway, Waterford and Cork. With the classes I've connected with over 1000 students. I have worked with many community centres such as Ard Family Resource Centre, giving them courses of Afro culture and dance. I've also worked closely with the Irish Refugee council giving them a project called "Move your mood" where we had a session with a therapist and a dance session after.

Being a positive person who is a lover of life and fun, I have built a powerful dance community that supports each other and also brings life and presence to any room. My biggest accomplishment would be my brand SouthSide Moves, it's more than just a dance class, it's a lifestyle.”

Meet the panelist:

“Britney Madondo is the current Miss Dublin West 2022. Upon her crowning, she took on a number of charity initiatives in the lead up to the Miss Ireland final in August of 2022. She worked extensively in raising awareness about human trafficking under her campaign , where she raised funds for Ruhama and the Dublin R**e Crisis Center; two charities that deal with and provide support services to victims of s*x trafficking. She heavily promoted it on her social media and received a certificate of completion for a course she completed called “Knowing S*x Trafficking” in partnership with Ruhama. She also raised money for a trike for a child with mobility issues in aid of Variety Ireland’s Recycle Mobility Programme. In the past Britney has also worked with families of people in long-term imprisonment, providing basic essentials such as food, clothing and bedding. She hopes to eventually work with victims of wrongful imprisonment and to help them fight for justice and rebuild their lives post incarceration.

While Britney has travelled for modelling and promoting fashion, she also finds beauty in exploring different cultures and connecting with people from various ethnic backgrounds. She is currently in her 2nd year of Film and Broadcasting in Technological University Dublin. Her dream is to be well rounded in the media industry and use her career in fashion and philanthropy to inspire young people to be the best versions of themselves on a global scale.”
