When I designed the Fia Felted gilet, this exact moment was on my mood board. The crisp coastal air, the morning peace, and the perfect balance of heavy boiled wool over lightweight curved linen. Truly the ultimate summer staple. 🌊✨

The Fia Summer Picnic Post!

Woven for the wild Irish landscape, perfected for hot summer days☀️

There is a beautiful misconception that pure wool belongs solely to the colder months. In truth, it is nature’s finest performance fabric.

Crafted from 100% pure wool and expertly woven in Ireland, our blankets are designed to breathe. Whether you are seeking shade under a forest canopy or catching a coastal breeze, Fia brings a piece of luxury to your summer slow-downs.

Breathable by Nature: Active wool fibers prevent heat from trapping, keeping your picnic setup remarkably cool and crisp.

Resilient Against the Elements: Naturally moisture-repellent fibers guard against damp grass, while sand and debris shake off with ease.

A Lifetime of Craft: Imbued with the rich heritage of traditional Irish weaving, built to endure season after season.

Ground your summer adventures in authentic, sustainable luxury 🇮🇪👉

Mentorship takes many forms, and this weekend it looked like tangled yarn and a lot of laughs! 🧶

We took some time out of the studio to attend a fantastic sustainable knitting workshop at the historic Carnegie Library.

The session was part of the incredible ReStyle Dublin sustainable fashion expo, hosted by The Environmental Forum and delivered by with support from , .ireland, and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.

As a brand rooted in high-quality natural textiles and slow fashion, we love supporting events that champion sustainability.
But this trip was extra special.

My brilliant intern Fabiola, who moved to Ireland from Spain, had never picked up knitting needles before, so we decided it was the perfect team-building challenge to tackle together. 🇪🇸✨In a wonderful twist of fate, the sustainable wool we chose happened to be sourced directly from Peru, weaving a beautiful thread of Fabiola’s own heritage into her very first knitting project. 🇵🇪❤️ It felt like a little piece of home found its way straight to us in Dún Laoghaire.

At Fia Clothing, we believe in buying well and making things last. This weekend was a beautiful reminder that sustainability isn’t just about the clothes we wear, it is about connection, heritage, and passing skills on to the next generation of creators.

Children don't remember every conversation. They remember how you made them feel.

A Teddy's 99. A walk by the sea. A hand to hold.

Some traditions never go out of style.

Our collection of Irish-made tailored men's tweed flat caps, crafted using tweed woven by Kerry Woollen Mills, celebrates the best of Irish craftsmanship. Made for everyday moments that become lifelong memories.

There are some spaces that make you instantly slow down - and Mucklagh Lodge was one of them.

We recently spent a few days in Co. Wicklow as part of a beautiful retreat centred around rest, nourishment and reconnection, and it felt like such a natural home for FIA.

As a brand, we are increasingly drawn to spaces that invite stillness - retreats, rituals, slower mornings, and the quiet details that help people feel held and at ease. For us, comfort is never just practical; it shapes the experience of rest itself. The layers you wrap yourself in, the softness you return to after practice, the pieces that help you settle more deeply into the moment - these things matter.

Set among the Wicklow landscape, it was so special to see FIA become part of that rhythm, with guests discovering pieces designed to bring warmth, comfort and calm to their own rituals of rest.

We left feeling inspired by the people, the setting, and the reminder that what we wear and wrap ourselves in can become part of how we rest.

We’re excited to keep exploring FIA within retreat, wellness and rest spaces that value softness, intention and connection - and to continue creating pieces that move gently between retreat settings and everyday life.

The name Fia comes from the Irish word for stag.
As an Irish-speaking family, we wanted the brand to reflect our language, our roots and who we are.
It also carries something personal -
Fi for Fiona and A for Anna, my daughter.

But the stag was never just about a logo.
There are plenty of brands that use stags.
We wanted ours to be different.

The brief was simple:
Unmistakably Irish.
Not Scottish.
Not aggressive.
Not aloof.

Instead, he stands proudly on the high ground.
Calm.
Content.
Self-assured.
A stag with character, not attitude.

His surroundings draw from the ancient oak woodlands of Kerry,
home to Ireland’s native red deer.
Subtle details root him in the Irish landscape that inspired Fia.

The creative genius behind it all is Susan Flatley .
She understood Fia before it fully existed.
And suggested bringing artist David Rooney into the project.

David used scraperboard -
an engraving technique where black ink is scratched away from a chalk board with a surgical scalpel,
revealing the white beneath.
He built the stag line by line.

The artwork shaped the entire visual identity of Fia.
From logo to swing tags to website -
We took a single illustration and built the entire visual world of the brand around it.

What emerged wasn’t just a logo.
It was our stag.
And he’s been taking the high ground ever since.

At Fia we don’t chase trends.
We make pieces to last, and we’re grateful for those who notice.
This Valentine’s, we’re sharing some love from our FIA family across Ireland and beyond!
💌 Heartfelt thanks to our customers who appreciate our products and service, and take the time to give us this lovely feedback.

✨ Nollaig na mBan ✨

Today marks Women’s Christmas — a day I’ve always loved, a quiet nod to the women who held Christmas together.

I woke at dawn to a delicious Yoga Nidra with and Nirlipta Tuli through and I’ll return again this evening at dusk. Beginning and ending the day in rest feels like a quiet, radical act of love — a gentle way of settling the body and easing back into a more natural rhythm.

This sense of slowness runs through how I approach FIA too: making clothes with care, choosing natural fibres, valuing longevity over urgency.

The new year doesn’t have to start with a jolt on January 1st — it can arrive gradually, in keeping with the seasons. Here’s to easing ourselves into the year ahead.
Tea optional. Cake encouraged. ☕🍰
