FISH OF THE MONTH RULES 🎣
Up until now, we’ve pretty much posted all entries sent in and let the public decide what they thought. That way, the shop wasn’t turning people away directly and anglers could learn along the way from feedback and comments.
However, since extending the competition to TikTok , we’ve been inundated with low-quality entries, blurred photos, guessed weights and measurements, and in some cases poor fish handling.
To keep Fish Of The Month fair and enjoyable for everyone, we’re asking all entries to follow a few simple rules going forward.
Supporting photos of measurements and weights may be requested if sizes appear to be guessed or exaggerated.
✅ Fish should be clearly measured on a mat, ruler or tape measure
✅ If claiming a weight, scales should be visible in the photo where possible
✅ Clear photos only. Blurry or heavily edited images won’t be accepted
✅ Please include your NAME, SPECIES, SIZE/WEIGHT and a short REPORT with your entry
✅ As this is a photo-based competition, image quality is important
✅ AI-generated, heavily doctored or badly photoshopped images will not be accepted
✅ Fish care matters. Please handle fish responsibly and return them safely after photos are taken
This is a catch and release competition and we want to promote good angling practices alongside genuine catches.
Any fish with exaggerated or unverified weights/sizes may not be accepted into the competition. This is simply to keep things fair for everyone taking part.
Thanks to everyone who continues to send in genuine entries and support the competition 👏
