Dublin City Book Fair

Dublin City Book Fair An antiquarian and secondhand book fair providing the largest selection of books in the City of Dubl Each fair starts at 11.00am and continues until 5.00pm.

The Dublin City Book Fair takes place eight times per year in the Tara Towers Hotel, Merrion Road, Dublin 4. Seven of the fairs are held on Sundays, while the eighth, the highlight of the year, is on Easter Monday. The remaining fairs for 2013 are:- JulyApril 1st Easter Monday), May 26th, June 30th, September 8th, October 27th, and December 8th. It is the biggest Antiquarian, Secondhand & Out-of-P

rint book fair in the country and usually has twenty-five to thirty stands with booksellers from all over Ireland displaying books on every subject under the sun and at prices to suit every pocket. Whether you're a collector, a connoisseur of fine bindings, a student or just someone who's looking for another book to read, you'll be fairly sure of finding something to interest you here - and if the book you're after is not in the room on the day, you can be fairly certain that the dealers there will move heaven and earth to get it for you (many of them have books buried at home, and will willingly dig them up on request). Admission is €2.00 and accompanied children are admitted free of charge.

The Belfast Book Fair will take place on Saturday November 8th in Methodist College, 1 Malone Road, just opposite Queen's University. Opens at 11am and runs until 4pm if the book-supply hasn't run out before that ( it never actually has, but I'm told that it came close enough a couple of times, so try and get there early, to minimise chances of disappointment).
Admission is £2, and accompanied. children will be admitted free .And on that one ticket you can come and go until 4 o'clock. Hope to see a few busloads of people, book collectors or wannabee book collectors coming up the M1!

What about jumping onto the Goldliner ( an inter-city bus) and tearing up the M1 to sunny Belfast on Saturday 8th November to visit the Belfast Book Fair?
(it's an annual event going on this last 40 years) in Methodist College ( only our second time here) at No.1 Malone Road, just opposite Queen's University. There'll be stuff ( antiquarian, secondhand, out-of-print, collectable books, prints , postcards, comics ) here that never made it as far as Dublin despite the M1 and several aerodromes, so you could find stuff that your empty shelves might have been crying out for metaphorically for generations. And there'll be dictionaries too, in several languages. The fair runs from 11am until 4pm, admission is £2 and accompanied children will be admitted free ( like you couldn't really ask them to pay to go into a school - on a Saturday!!)
