With an Irish base in Dublin 8 and an international aesthetic – April and the Bear aims to bring an affordable alternative to those looking for something different, unique and beautiful for their home. Designed by artist Hal Haines in collaboration with &k Amsterdam, this absolute beauty has us questioning why we've been keeping our butter in such boring accommodation all these years.

The colourful little windows! The roof! The fact that your BUTTER now has a more stylish home than you do!

STOP THE LIGHTS - THE GHOSTS ARE WEARING BEANIES. 👻

As if tiny ceramic ghosts weren't enough, now they have LITTLE WOOLLEN HATS and we haven't been the same since.

Are they spooky? Kinda
Are they dressed appropriately for an Irish October? YES.
Are we completely obsessed? Also yes.

The Tereo Vase by Ferm Living is one of those pieces that makes you stop and look a little closer. Made from ceramic, its sculptural form is punctuated with hand-shaped openings, each edged in an irregular texture that looks almost like torn paper.

Inspired by the Japanese art of Ikebana, those openings allow you to place individual stems exactly where you want them and create something beautifully considered rather than simply plonking a bunch of flowers in a vase. A single branch, a few wild stems, something wonderfully wonky from the garden – Tereo makes very little look VERY good.

Right. It’s lashing outside, it’s dark approximately 14 minutes after lunch and we’ve accepted our fate.

And if ever there was a candle made for switching OFF for a bit, this is it.

Crushed lemon leaves and soft cotton — clean, green and fresh without being overly citrusy. It has that gorgeous smell of sheets that have been drying outside all day, windows open, fresh air through the house and absolutely NOTHING urgent happening.

This tiny ceramic cottage has its own little turf fire — light one of the incense cones inside and watch as the smoke starts curling out of the chimney.
