Since 1979 when we began in the waste industry, we have established a mission to offer value for money services. We are an Irish Family business serving over 60,000 customers with a 3 bin collection service and employ over 420 staff. We are proud that 90% of the

waste we process is recycled. Through the years, we have invested over €50m in our facilities, processes, fleet and equipment. We also offer commercial clients a One Shop Solution for all their waste needs. This page will be used to share our activities in the local communities we serve. We support many charities, local organisations and sports clubs. This page is not set up, or monitored, for the purpose of customer care. 🥊🇮🇪 What a night at Croke Park!

A fantastic occasion for Irish sport and an incredible atmosphere as Katie Taylor took centre stage at Croke Park.

Behind an event of this scale, there’s a huge amount of work involved in getting the stadium ready for the crowds.

We’re proud that the Thorntons Recycling team has been playing its part throughout this busy run of events, with additional general waste, recycling and food waste bins installed across Croke Park and our teams supporting the clean-up and recovery operation.

Congratulations to Katie Taylor and everyone involved in delivering another memorable night at Croke Park. 👏♻️🥊

🚛 20 Years Apart – Still Going Strong!

A great addition to the Thorntons Recycling fleet, as we welcome our latest Volvo bin truck into service.

And alongside it in these photos is a brilliant reminder of the value of a good workhorse – one of our 20-year-old Volvo trucks, which is still out working every day and going strong with no trouble! 💪

Of course, the trucks are only part of the story. Pictured with the newest addition are driver Viorel Gutanu, helper Francisco Viegas Maria and David Farrell.

Keeping a busy fleet on the road takes good vehicles, good maintenance and, most importantly, good people.

Here’s to many years and plenty of kilometres ahead for the newest member of the fleet! 🚛♻️

The TruckSafe standard recognises strong performance across key areas of fleet operation, including road safety, vehicle maintenance, driver management and compliance.

Retaining our Silver status reflects the ongoing work that takes place across our transport operations every day and the commitment of our drivers, transport teams, mechanics and everyone involved in keeping our fleet operating safely and professionally.

♻️ Ready for a busy few weeks at Croke Park!

When tens of thousands of people come through the gates, there’s plenty of work happening behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly.

Thorntons Recycling has installed additional general waste, recycling and food waste bins at Croke Park to support the recent and upcoming series of major events at the stadium.

From huge concerts to major sporting occasions, our teams work closely with Croke Park to ensure the additional waste and recycling infrastructure is in place and ready for the crowds.

A great example of the planning and teamwork that goes into servicing one of Ireland’s busiest event venues. 👏♻️

👏 Another New Driver to Celebrate - Congratulations Bernadette!

Last month, we introduced Justyna, who had recently been handed the keys to our new Mini/Midi skip truck.

Today, we’re delighted to have another achievement to celebrate as Bernadette has successfully passed her Category C licence and is now taking on driving duties with our Mini/Midi skip team. 🚛

It’s fantastic to see two women progressing into driving roles within Thorntons Recycling, and both Justyna and Bernadette are great examples of the different career opportunities available across our operations.

Passing the Category C licence is a brilliant achievement and an exciting next step for Bernadette.

Congratulations from everyone at Thorntons Recycling, and safe driving to both of our Mini/Midi drivers! 👏🚛♻️

🚴‍♂️🏁 That’s a wrap on the Mondello Cycling Series! 🏁🚴‍♀️

The rain certainly came down for last night’s series finale at Mondello, but while it may have dampened the racing, it definitely didn’t dampen the celebrations afterwards! 🌧️👏

After the final laps were completed, riders, organisers and supporters gathered for some well-earned burgers, soft drinks and treats before Paul Thornton presented the trophies to this year’s winners. 🏆🥇🥈🥉

Thorntons Recycling is delighted to have supported another fantastic series of racing at Mondello. A huge congratulations to all of the winners and everyone who competed throughout the series, and our thanks to the organisers, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes who made it happen.

We hope everyone enjoyed the series as much as we did.

🏁🚴‍♂️ Finale Night at Mondello! 🚴‍♀️🏁

It all comes down to tonight as the Thorntons Recycling-sponsored Mondello Cycling Series reaches its final race!

After a fantastic summer of racing, the riders will take to the track one last time this evening, with everything still to race for. 🚴‍♂️💨

We’re delighted that Paul Thornton will be at Mondello tonight to represent Thorntons Recycling and present the trophies to this year’s winners. 🏆🥇🥈🥉

Best of luck to everyone racing tonight, and a huge well done to all the riders, organisers and volunteers who have made this year’s series such a success.

Time for one final push! 💪🚴‍♂️💨🏁
