Spanish moss or an air plant absorbs water directly from the air to their leaves using little hairs. It also absorbs water faster through the air than other plants. All plants release moisture when breathing out like we do. So air plants for me make the most sense for damper rooms. However they still need good light (not in a window but must be able to see it) as they are tropical plants

This is an AIRPLANT called Spanish moss. In the wild it hangs out in trees taking in moisture and nutrients through its silvery green leaves. No roots. No soil.
- bright light but not directly all day or in a hot window
-soak 1 hr per week fully in rain or bottled water
-no draughts or radiators

“I asked ChatGPT and it said to do….. but the plant is still struggling” - of course the internet and AI is a handy place to get info…. But it doesn’t mean it’s right! We KNOW the knowledge on houseplants online is so confusing, but do you know ChatGPT doesn’t have a brain? It also pulls information from online. ChatGPT CANNOT critically think.

Houseplants are an incredibly rewarding and feel good hobby … so let’s learn from the experts ☺️
