It was more than a physical challenge for Fozzy (William) Forristal - it was a deeply emotional journey across Ireland, with the memory of his son, Aidan, guiding him.

Aidan, from Lixnaw, tragically lost his life in a car accident in 2025. The grief endured by his parents and siblings is beyond words, but the support of their community has helped carry the family through the darkest of times.

A fitness enthusiast, Fozzy and friends Tom Owens and PJ Meehan took on a remarkable 400km run in support of Brú Columbanus, a Cork-based charity that provides accommodation for families visiting loved ones in hospital. So far, the fundraiser has raised more than €40,000.

Ogie has agreed to shave his head if donations with the comment “Shave Ogie’s Head” reach €1,500 — and he’s currently only about €400 away from the target!

Forever 19, never forgotten, forever in our hearts. ❤️

Aidan was one of a kind. He was hardworking, kind-hearted, and full of life. He loved working at Oisín’s Quality Irish Christmas Trees and Oisín’s Home & Garden Maintenance, giving everything he had and enjoying every moment along the way.

After tragically losing Aidan at just 19 years old, his family have been left with an unimaginable loss. During Aidan’s time in hospital, Brú Columbanus provided incredible support to his family by giving them a place to stay during such a difficult time — something they will never forget.

To honour Aidan’s memory and give back to the charity that helped them so much, his father is taking on an incredible challenge: running 400km across Ireland, step by step, carrying Aidan’s spirit with him every single mile.

As Aidan’s family, we miss him more than words can say, and we are asking for your support. If you are in a position to donate, we would be deeply grateful. Every contribution, no matter how small, will go towards supporting Brú Columbanus and the amazing work they do for families in need.
