Hats by

Since settling in Ireland in December 2021, Juliane Gorman has been fascinated by the potential of Ireland's underused wool and has been experimenting with ways to incorporate it into her felted hats. Drawn to sustainable, locally sourced materials, she finds inspiration in the connection between land and sea, combining wool from Ireland's landscapes with cyanotype prints made from seaweed gathered along its shores. This marriage of natural materials, place, sustainability, and process has opened new directions in her work.

The Galway yarn used to create these garments was as a result of a small pilot scheme which was funded by private investors in early 2025.
