Earlier this month, we had a brilliant visit from the fabulous Paul Howard at Kennys. He was interviewed by Tomás Kenny about his new satirical novel (which went straight to number 1 in Ireland), 'A Nation Once Again' and had a room full of guests in stitches of laughter. The bestselling author of the Ross O'Carroll Kelly series of 27 books, Paul Howard is also a journalist and comedy writer. He is also a great storyteller and an absolute gent, and we were thrilled to see him achieve another instant bestseller to his name!

Kyla Cobbler 🩷 What a brilliant night we had in Galway's Black Box last night launching Kyla Cobbler's memoir, Happy, Thank You. More, Please. Kyla was interviewed by Laura Dowling and had the whole place in stitches laughing telling stories, and brought her mammy Mary on stage to boot. Kyla is also such a great force, really positive and empowering and we think it's safe to say that everyone left on a high.

Thank you to Elaine and all at publisher's Hachette Ireland, to Fergal, Pete, Sean and all the sound crew at the Black Box, to Laura Dowling for interviewing, to every person who came along - it's always great to see a full house celebrating books! - and of course to Kyla Cobbler for writing this book and for giving us all such a brilliant night of laughs. The wonderful Sebastian Barry was here in Kennys on Friday, to speak to a room full of guests about his remarkable new novel, The Newer World. The book is out this week, and is an unforgettable story about one man's life in the aftermath of the American Civil War. Sebastian gave a brilliant animated reading from the book during what was a super event, and he signed all 1,000 copies of the Exclusive Kennys Signed Limited Edition of the book, which are available now on kennys.ie and in the bookshop.

Sebastian Barry is the award winning author of nine novels. He is the former Laureate for Irish Fiction and has been nominated for the Booker Prize five times.
