The lodge and thatched cottages are overlooking a narrow but long water system , also called " the Inchigeelagh Lakes" . Lough Allua ranks amongst the top pike waters, regularly producing pike of 20 and 30 lbs.and still it is one of the least known pike venues on th

e island . There is no closed season and no permits are required ,while catch&release is encouraged . Other species to be caught are perch, roach, rudd, eel(currently closed),tench and the occasional rainbow and brown trout . You may aswell rent a fishfinder at €5,-per day. If it is your 1st time on Lough Allua it sure is a good idea to book a fishing guide at €60,-per day for 1 angler and €80,-for 2 anglers.Guides can be booked for all species and methods . Nearby are a number of excellent trout and salmon rivers and lakes plus Ireland top bream venue at Inniscarra , which is a mere 20km from the lodge .In addition we organize deep sea angling day trips from april till october covering approx.30 species ,amongst them various shark and blue shark in particular(summer only). We have our own fish smoking house and you may smoke your catch or have it done by us for a small fee . This year seems to be a good perch year with an amazing number of 40+ cm fish being caught and released by our customers . I guess it is just a matter of time before Lough Allua will throw up a 50cm beauty . Yesterday , Sigi trolling a 5cm wobbler , hooked up with a 42 cm whopper of a perch. Please bare in mind that big perch are protected and all fish of 25 cm or more have to be returned ....
