🚨DID YOU KNOW!!🚨

-> MONDAY JUNE 19TH AT CLOSE OF BUSINESS IS THE LAST DAY TO SUBMIT OBJECTIONS TO MEATH CO CO RE THE PUBLIC REALM AND REGENERATION PLAN

For those that haven't seen the plans, they are below.
Whilst change is good and, more often than not, very much necessary, these plans DO NOT bode well for the Traders of our small town.
Some of the planned changes include:
-> narrower streets
-> parking will be more than halved in the town centre, with people being expected to find parking on the outskirts and walk in
-> one way streets meaning detours around the town to where you want to go, but alas, there will be no available parking!

This will have untold catastrophic effects on the small businesses of this town. We will soon be a centre of traffic, temporary stops and starts, chaos while getting used to new, narrower road lay outs, and we will soon end up like Navan- an endless chaotic traffic jam whilst we navigate roadworks, with businesses unable to cope with the downturn in footfall- leading to inevitable closures.

Objection forms can be obtained in the Town Hall- we have been advised that these MUST be registered post to ensure they are not "lost".

Please if you want to have your say do not delay. The objections here are not to hinder the improvement of the town- positive, practical changes are most welcome, but Traders were NOT consulted or involved in the plan- yes, the public were given the option to fill in a survey a number of months back, but Traders were not asked to advise/make practical suggestions/offer their working knowledge of the town etc.

Act before it is too late, and we lose our numerous wonderful small business to those who have fat wallets behind them.

After a long week we are back in action. Granny's legacy lives on in our lives and in the shop and funeral home where she put over 70 yrs of her life into. She was always happy to greet all of her customers young and old and help those who were in need of a helping hand. We are looking forward to seeing you all again, if you have a spare minute have a read of a piece granny wrote a few years back ❤️

A stalwart of Newmarket Street, we are all very saddened to hear about the passing of Mrs McEntee. Condolences to all the family

We are very sad to announce the passing of Mrs. McEntee in her 101st year, may she rest in eternal peace
The shop will remain closed until further notice, we apologise for any inconvenience this will cause but we look forward to seeing you all soon, and would like to thank you all for your understanding
