Despite the inclement weather, still managed to get four BFT to the boat yesterday before the wind really got up in the early afternoon. Not big fish but lots to be seen!

Yesterday saw the close of the 2024 bluefin season in Ireland, the last two tuna of the season from 'Deep Blue' and Tuna.ie were taken by Jonny Kerr. The first a good fish of around 350lb's and the second a smaller fish of 150-180 lb's. Well done to Jonny and a big thank you to all who came aboard in 2024 and previous years.

2024 was not a great tuna season by any stretch; hampered by very poor weather in late July and August but we still managed quite good numbers.

I will be in Plymouth for the next couple of weeks working with Fortuna Charters. Give us a call if a weather opportunity arises, by all accounts there are still plenty of fish off the South and South West of the UK!

This year's tuna season closes on 12th November, there is a possibility of getting out for a few days before the season ends. Fishing for BFT from 'Deep Blue'; consistently Ireland's leading tuna boat. At the moment the weather looks ok for Friday 8th, Sunday 10th, Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th November.
Places are limited.
Also consider booking your general or tuna fishing trip for 2025 as weekend dates especially are very limited!
