It’s always nice to get a half hour to make some little heart dishes. I throw these ‘off the hump’ which is an old eastern tradition of pottery production where you use one large piece of clay and keep throwing from the top and cutting off each pot as you go. It’s quick and very rewarding work.

Here I’m throwing serving dishes. 1.25kg stoneware clay.
I make these dishes in 3 sizes and these are the medium.
They nest perfectly into each other and sell really well as wedding gifts.

I’ve been making these scallop edge bowls for 27years. I never tire of this shape, it’s a joy to throw. 2kg of stoneware clay and I turn a foot ring once they dry a little.

Throwing stacking espresso cups. These little guys are just 150g of stoneware clay and a joy to make as well as use.
