I grew up on a Council Estate π (loved every minute and proud of it!) π
During a time when everyone treated each other like Family π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦
We went outside to play on streets, built dens and made tree swings π³,
We got dirty, bathed ππ» on a Sunday we didn't eat fast foodππ....
We ate council food, beans on toast, jam buttys, lemon curd, proper home made food π and chips cooked in a proper chip pan.
We got ice creamπ¦ , but if not it was a choc ice from freezer.
I played rounders, garden hopping π³, Kerby π , Hide and Seekπ, british bulldog and knock a door run ππ
There was no bottled water π¦ we drank water from the tap (bathroom tap at night)π° council pop π€£
We shared the same bottle of pop... After we would wipe it with our mucky sleeves!
We only had kids tv after school πΊthat had no remote control, we rode our bikes π² for hours π°
There was no such thing as a mobile π± or any other electronic device π΅.
We wern't AFRAID OF ANYTHING.
If someone had a fight, that's exactly what it was... a fist fight ππ».
Kids didn't have gunsπ« or knivesπͺ.
The street lightsπ‘were our curfew or until our mum shouted us.
School was mandatory βοΈπ.
We watched our mouths around our eldersπ΄πΌπ΅πΌ because we knew we'd get a clip around the ear.
Sayings like "What's for dinner?" your guaranteed reply was s**t with sugar on (cherry on top if ur lucky) "where's mum?" β¦ Run off with the milk man would be the answer.
Put this on ya wall if you're proud ππ that you came from a close knit community ππ¬π« and you will never forget where you came from! πππβοΈ
