City Centre Traders hold protest against the - Mayor of Limerick 's plan to shut down city streets for the month of August. Traders from all the city centre attended this morning including Arthur's Quay Shopping Centre, Penny's, O'Connell St, William St., Catherine St.,Thomas St. and others. Closing The Crescent (Where The Mayor has properties) is madness as it's one of my main arteries of the city and vital for emergency vehicles and busses as well as shopper access. Honan's Quay closure last year caused chaos. Time to rethink closing the city.

The Mayor is fully committed to closing down the city for shoppers.
