We’ve got a new cabinet in the shop — planes, trains and automobiles.

There’s quite a mix at the moment, from working Mamod steam engines to Hornby, Tri-ang and model airliners.

Hornby has been part of the model railway world since 1920, so there’s a lot of history behind some of these little trains.

You come in without really knowing what you’re looking for, and then something catches your eye. A piece you remember from childhood. Something you’ve never seen before. Something that makes you wonder who owned it, where it came from, or what stories it could tell.

That’s part of what we love about Harp & Lion — there’s always something unexpected waiting to be discovered.

Ten years in, and Harp & Lion has become so much more than we first imagined.

What started with a little too much stuff and a pop-up shop has grown into three floors filled with antiques, vintage pieces, collectibles and plenty of stories.

But some things haven’t changed. We still love the hunt — finding something unexpected, bringing it back to the shop and wondering who might fall in love with it next.

And then there are the people. The customers who come in for a look, stay for a chat, and sometimes share a memory that connects them to something in the shop.

Maybe that’s what we love most about Harp & Lion: it keeps changing, while somehow holding on to the things that made us fall in love with it in the first place.

Ten years on, we’re still discovering, still collecting, and still enjoying the journey.

And the story continues… 💫

Some things just make you wonder about the life they’ve had.

This Underwood Standard Portable Typewriter dates back to around 1924.

Just imagine all the letters that might have been written on it, the people who used it, and the places it may have been along the way.

Nearly 100 years later, it’s still here — a little piece of another time.

Look closer.

You never know what you’ll find.
