The sunflowers are starting to flower, they are quite small this year due to lack of rain but the bees are busy working away on them.

The bees and butterflies are working away, enjoying the flowers from the green manure we have sowed.

We sow the green manures to feed the soil, we grow trees in the open ground, so when an area of trees has been sold, we clear the patch and sow in the green manure to feed the soil, which in turn benefits the pollinators when it flowers.

A little surprise swarm found in a bait box in one of our Apiaries last weekend. Of course they decided to build in the roof instead of on the frames in the box.

Congratulations and best of luck to Niamh and Grahame on their new venture. The cafe and shop are open from today and the retail museum is opening on July 9th with lots of exciting things to see.
