Introducing 'The gentle heart of Mayo'

There is a quiet steady rhythm to Mayo, found in the sweep of the Atlantic wind, the rich bogland and the unwavering spirit of a people who never stopped believing...

To honour the county's long awaited All Ireland glory, I created this handmade felted piece.

💚 The Red & Green cloak:
Wet felted wool capturing the fiery passion and pride of Mayo fans across the world

❤️The Brooch:
A copper pennanular fastner tying her ti ancient irish heritage and the strength of the west

💚 The St. Brigids Cross
Hand twisted copper wire representing faith, protection and generations of hope

She wasn't just made for a single day of victory, she was born out of the quiet faith of generations.

- she stands at 6 inches including the base.

You may or may not have noticed i have been missing in action the last few weeks, I had hoped to get my Mayo piece up before the amazing All Ireland win but due to family reasons I had to take a step back.

DEIRFIÚRACHA AN FHÁSAIGH -'Sisters of the Wild'🌳

Hand in hand, they wander, protectors and keepers of the forest floor.

​The little one is still learning the ways of the woods from her older sister. Today, she is amazed by her big discovery, a perfect, tiny pinecone.

Her older sister walks just a half-step ahead, guiding the way, carrying a precious glass bottle filled with dandelion clocks.
​Every seed inside is a little wish gathered from the forest floor waiting for the perfect moment to be let go.

​The sun is starting to dip below the trees. Time to fly home after a long day foraging together.

​Handcrafted from needle felted wool, natural pinecone, a miniature glass vial, and sycamore seeds.

This piece is a collectors item and stands at 5.5 inches tall (including wooden slice)

TAISCE NA COILLE - 'Treasure of the Wood' 🍄

​If you walk quietly enough through the woods, you might just spot him.
​He’s spent the morning foraging, his little acorn-cap basket heavy on his back.

He was just about to spread his sycamore seed wings and fly home before dusk, but then he saw it bright against the green moss.
​The perfect mushroom!

​Sometimes, the greatest treasures in the forest aren't gold or jewels, but the tiny wonders right under our feet.

​Handcrafted with love from needle-felted wool, natural acorn caps, and sycamore seeds.

This piece stands at 4 inches tall (including wooden base)

Needle felting tiny armatures definitely leaves less room for error, making it a bit of a challenge!However, I'm learning with every piece, and the final result is always worth the wait!

Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine!

I went for a walk in Beleek this morning and dont seem to be able to go for a walk like a normal human being without scanning the ground to see what I might be able to use for future projects!

So I picked up some moss, a small twig with oak leaves and tiny sycamore seeds which are perfect wings for a future fairy child🍃

Look who joined the Donoghue clan at the weekend!!
Our Beautiful kunekune pig 'Rascal' gave birth to these two gorgeous banbhs, a boy and a girl (yet to be named). Sadly she lost 6..
Thank god she is fit and well and these 2 beauties are doing great!!🩷
