FISHING / SHOOTING & FOOD / THATS WHAT'S ON MY MIND. Stunning sunrise this morning across Springfield ,and it turned out a lovely day. Nice get few trout on Lene with pal Seamus, just Brownies hit our lures. Savage feed this evening before heading for Duck flight , Mallard breast,new Spuds covered with melted 🫠 Butter & Turnip. No Ducks at flight but pair Mallard broke as I walked in just out range. What harm looks promising for another evening. Tomorrow not sure if its Fishing or Shooting,rain forcasted see what morning like.

MALLARD & GOOD WORKOUT FOR KATE. Took Kate for a nice workout & she had good retrive on Mallard Duck, plus done lot work in drains and patches of Nettles. Bit of a treat for her now and have take other Springer Sheila for walk. This evening caught up with paper run,tomorrow till Sunday screaming reels & blazing guns.Thats the plan weather permitting & Benelli stripped and cleaned.

SUPER SUNDAY & BIT DUCK FEED DOWN. That was long day bit catch up on paper work after early morning walk,Royal Canal in bad shape on some stretches. Later in evening checked few ponds,very little water but put bit feed down. Tonight sat it out but just few Snipe tipped in what harm lovely evening. I do love my food and Top notch bit Pork today. Preped Mallard and birds in mint condition.

GREEN DAY / DUCKS & GIRLS DOWN. Just getting back on track after Mothers Funeral mid week. Caught up with the grass cutting & strimming here across the road in neighbour's & home place. Took dogs for walk and shot first pair Mallard this season. Rivers very overgrown on certain stretches. Kate full life and worked away i walked rivers, put her back in van to walk open stretch. Its early days but hopefully all will work out,gave her few retrives before coming home.

NO FISHING & MULLINGAR ALIVE AND KICKING. Late cancellation on the pike scene left me stranded this morning,but back out on Owel tomorrow evening. Some buzz in Crossed Keys last night with Trad session in full swing early evening & out back later huge engagement night for Orla McLoughlin and Michael Heeney. I whipped out to the Covert at Ballinafid for Tony Tighe 60th. Keep eye in Out & About Topic Newspapers in next week or so. Few pics attached not doing captions,ye know who ye are i hope. PIKE /AMERICAN LEGION POST # 135 & JADEN MOLLISON. Nice have Jaden Mollison on board today for bit pike fishing, Dad Derek just sat back and chilled.We have fished quite a few times and today Jaden had 15 pike in just few hours as we finished fishing after lunch. The pike were in mint condition and hammered our lures. Good see S.R.F.B. Officers Brenda Montgomery and Mark Phillips on patrol. Not sure plan for tomorrow waiting on call for another day at pike. Ennell anglers in action tomorrow, Con Hope Cup. Fly fishing 10am-6pm ,check -in Whitebridge Bay. Now feeding time for dogs & bit more feeding for Ducks. Later tonight Out & About with old Nikon.

PIKE FOR COUSIN'S JACKO & FIONN. Angling mad cousins Jacko McNamee and Fionn Carr had few nice pike today on lures. The lads do a lot of feeder fishing on the Royal Canal and today Jacko caught his first few pike. The lads are big into sport & Jacko is U/15 Longford soccer player and has match this evening, the Fionn lad into Martial Arts. No rest for the wicket now dogs have to be fed,and going put bit Duck feed down. Tomorrow back at pike again ,hope rain forcasted stays away from the Midlands.
