23/10/2026

The third of our short video series, shot earlier in the autumn, with Milk Supplier of the Year Simon Breen looks at the realities of farming today. With 35 years' experience, Simon knows there will always be ups and downs. His focus is on what he can control: a reliable team, strong breeding and calving support, and using data to make informed decisions.

For Simon, farming is maths, science and a willingness to review the plan, adapt and keep moving forward.

The second in our video series with Milk Supplier of the Year Simon Breen hears him talk about the importance of having a system that fits the farm: spring-calving cows, high-quality grass and as little concentrate as possible, while keeping a sharp focus on breeding.

Farming brings plenty of challenges, from volatile milk prices to rising costs, but Simon concentrates on what he can control: good people, strong data and sound decisions.

Next week Simon talks about the challenges in dairying today but why he still loves what he does.
