Hall of Shame 💫
Maybe I was naive when I assumed that after prosecuting the woman who was stealing thousands of euros worth of stock from the booth last year - I can feel safe again…turns out I was wrong.
Yesterday I was tidying in the booth when I noticed a pair of brass candleholders missing from the miniature collection. Small, but striking piece, in a very visible location, right under the camera…sure no one would be that bold…looked around to see, maybe they were picked up that put down somewhere else, checked it with the sales guys to see if they sold them over the weekend but maybe forgot to record the purchase…no joy
Spent a couple of hours today going through CCTV footage to see what happened, and low and behold, spotted a “lady” coming in, picking them up, checking the price, putting them back while a number of people were browsing around her in the area, and once the crowd was gone, picked them up again and hid them behind the newspapers she was holding in her hand, than did a quick walk around and 2 minutes later left through the entrance…
So while I’m sharing the footage with the Guards and giving them my statement, I’ll also hang her photo in the booth - just to save her the trouble coming back for more…
Petty? Maybe. But since I spent half of my afternoon checking CCTV, I think it’s only fair that she spends some time too on my Wall of Shame. In a prime location of course.
