Deelish Garden Centre was established over three decades ago as one of the first plant centres in the West Cork area. As our knowledge and the publics enthusiasm for new varieties grew, so did the range of our stock. About ten years ago we decided to initiate Unicorn Nurseries, dedicated solely to the acquisition and propagation of unusual plants, particularly trees and shrubs. We chose to define 'unusual' as any plant difficult or impossible to obtain through normal outlets in Ireland. Because of both our geographical location and our own interests, we have tended to concentrate on more tender species, though we also offer a selection of more temperate plants and an expanding range of species and hybrid Rhododendrons.

Choosing some climbers for our recent newly built structure and thought we would share the thought process with you!

Curious which ye think would be a good choice....let us know in the comments.

We already have lots of Wisteria and Jasmine growing in other areas in the garden centre, so looking we're for a different vibe

Growing strawberries in a polytunnel.

It's a good time of year for the background jobs in the garden while the growing season is coming to an end of sorts.
Time for the projects to be built for next year's season.

If you are thinking about strawberries and all those runners that are taking up valuable space, here is a fab solution we found that works really well.

We sell bareroot strawberries from November and many varieties of potted strawberries in Spring.

So plenty of time to build your hanging planter 😉
