Stillorgan Village

Stillorgan Village Stillorgan is a suburb of south county Dublin. A great place to live. What and where is the the heart of the village? The shopping centre? The overflow car park?

On 13th August 2012 Katie Taylor took to the stage on the seafront of Bray to celebrate her Olympic gold medal win. 20,000 people turned out to welcome her home in this beautiful location. Watching this on TV, I wondered what we would do in Stillorgan if we welcomed home a triumphant local? Kilmacud Crokes? St. Laurence's Church? So, in the absence of a geographical heart, or an obvious place to congregate, I decided to create a page where we could at least have an online sense of community. There are now over 4,000 page followers. Open to all to share news, comments, events and for local businesses to advertise their goods and services. I am also delighted to see that many of the page followers, who were born and bred in Stillorgan, follow us from all around the world. Keeping in touch with home. Finally, you might be interested to know what the most engagement on the page relates to: posts about lost items: dogs; cats; wallets; keys; bikes; to name but a few... We've had one lost drone.

Oatlands Primary School is hosting an open day on Friday, 18th Sept. A great opportunity for prospective parents to see this wonderful school in full flow. The school caters for both and girls and is a direct feeder school into Oatlands College and many of the local girls secondary schools.
