Some old newspaper articles from the Tipperary Star mentioning the opening and refurbs of shops over the bears from ballysloe to Hoynes and Gortnahoe

From Daniel Byrne bringing up the old photo in colour

This was taken when the shop in Gortnahoe was run by Alice and Michael Dunne, the shop as changed a fair bit since then with a much larger shopfront and window, the shop at this time had the post office, telephone switchboard, grocery and butchers counter

Hi Guys, as we are nearing 2027 and this year is special to us, as it will be 70 years since Mick Cahill opened his first shop in Ballysloe, and we are wondering if anyone would happen to have any old photos of the shops or the people past and present in any of the shops be it Ballysloe, Hynes, or where we are now in Gortnahoe.

I found this photo of the shop in Gortnahoe when we first purchased it in 1998

Any help would be much appreciated
