Right, I need to say this properly instead of just angrily muttering about it to myself for another week.

Some of the brands I stock haven’t sent a single parcel into Ireland in months 😳 not because they don’t want to, but because the paperwork to do it legally isn’t worth it for them anymore. And it runs both ways. Other Irish stores I know have quietly stopped posting out to Europe too, same reason.

The rule behind it isn’t a bad one on paper, less packaging waste is a fair ask. It’s the ex*****on that’s brutal 🤬registering separately in every single country you want to ship to, one at a time, with no shortcut for a business of few people.

What’s kept me able to bring pieces in is continuing to buy wholesale like I do to keep bringing great brands to the Irish market. It’s just a much harder-won path that’s still open to me for now.

So before you give up on something you can no longer get shipped to you, it’s worth checking who’s already stocking it here. Chances are somebody went and got it for you.

Curious if any of you running small shops are feeling this yet too, would love to hear how you’re navigating it?!
