Blessing of Graves: It is recommended that people have Masses said for their loved ones at anniversary time and any special occasion of remembrance but also as soon as a loved one, neighbour, relative or friend passes away. Maccabees 12:46 "It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead.

Once a Grave is blessed it is always blessed it never becomes unblessed. Mass for all those buried in Killbarry Cemetery first Saturday in November.

Sunday 17th of May is World Communication Day.

Basically, the message is a reminder that real people matter more than technology.

While AI (artificial intelligence) and digital tools are every-where, the Vatican wants to make sure we don't lose the "human touch." Here is the message broken down simply:

o People over Pixels: Don't let AI-generated voices or fake faces (deepfakes) replace real human connection. Your unique voice and face are what make you.

o Heart over Algorithms (a recipe for computers directing the computer how to present or interpret something): Technology can process data, but it can’t feel empathy or use a conscience. Communication should always come from a place of human feeling.

o Be Smart Users: We need to learn how to tell the difference between what’s real and what’s computer-generated so we don't get misled by tech.

o Tools, not Masters: AI and social media should be a tool that helps humans communicate with each other, not a replacement for the people themselves or from personal contact with each other.

Key Reflections: TUESDAY next 17th St. Patrick’s Day.

• Mission in Daily Life: Like Patrick, we are called to be witnesses to love and kindness, to spread and defend the faith, bringing light into difficult circum-stances.
• Unity & Connection: The shamrock, used by Patrick to explain the Trinity, serves as a symbol of unity and the interconnectedness of our faith, family, and nature.
• Gratitude: St. Patrick’s Day is a moment to give thanks for the faith passed down to us and to cherish our heritage and pray to and for those who made great sacrifices to pass the faith on to us.

"Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left".

Today we celebrate international Woman’s Day 8th of March.

The heart of what Christianity should mean for women (and men). Jesus was the only rabbi of his day that we know of who had women disciples. He had women supporters and women who travelled with him. The Gospels record women as the ones who stayed close to Jesus as he endured crucifixion and as the first witnesses to the resurrection.

Prayer for international Women’s Day:
Eternal God, who created us all in your image, and who desire justice and mercy for all your people, hear our prayers for women around the world. For those lacking opportunities for education, and the right to vote, for Mothers, for those who work in our health service, for those in single life for teachers. Lord hear our prayer.
