🍂 What should you be planting in October? 🍂

The soil is still warm and the rain is doing the watering for you, so this is one of the best planting months of the year. Here's what we have in store right now:

🌸 Winter bedding: pansies, violas, wallflowers, and more for instant colour in pots and window boxes. €4.50 per tray or any 3 for €12.

🌺 Hellebores 'Hello Red' and 'Hello Pink': tough, hardy plants that can flower from September right through to April. €16.99 each or 2 for €30.

🌷 Spring bulbs: a huge range of daffodils, from miniature Tête-à-Tête to fragrant doubles, at €5.99 a pack. Plant them at about three times their own depth. (Hold your tulips until November!)

🧄 Onion sets and shallots at €3.50, and elephant garlic at €4.75. Plant now for an early harvest next year.

🌳 It's also a great time for trees, shrubs, and hedging. Plant now and they'll root in over winter and take off in spring.

A little work now means a garden full of colour next spring. 🌼

Pop in to us at McGuire's Garden Centre and we'll help you pick the right plants for your space. What are you planting this month?

It’s with huge sadness that we share the news about the passing of a dear friend and former work colleague, Marie Jastrzebska. Marie was the welcoming face that many people will remember when they visited our garden centre over many years, the kind and helpful voice at the end of the phone, an unassuming, light hearted lady that was great at her job and nothing made her happier than finding ways to help others out and she did that with such ease on a daily basis. Our deepest condolences to her husband Les and the extended family. May this lovely woman Rest In Peace.
