From a lifetime (5 decades) observing, filming and photographing, the unique coastal and underwater habitats of South Kerry's Derrynane, Kenmare Bay and the Skellig Coast comes this eye opening visual feast.

This is a timely reminder of why we urgently need to protect our shallow bays and ocean territory.
• 9% of Ireland's maritime area is protected, and falls way short of the global 30% by 2030 target.
• There are little or no management plans in place.
• After 5 years of promising, the Government is still stalling on the designation of Marine Protected area legislation for Marine habitats and wildlife.
• Pressure from plastics, bird flu and habitat condition negatively affect our populations of seabirds.
• Pressures from human activity both along the coast and at sea is having a detrimental effect on marine life.
• Light pollution is altering habitats.
Fixing all of these issues will ml help to positively reshape the future of Ireland's coastal and ocean state, which will reap huge benefits for everyone and everything.
